ONE OF THE FIRST SMALL BATCH SPECIALTY COFFEE ROASTERS

Established in 2005, Pioneer Coffee Roastery was one of the first small batch specialty coffee roasters on the Sunshine Coast.  While the specialty coffee industry has changed significantly since then, Pioneer has stayed true to their primary objective – to carefully and consistently roast the best coffee beans we can find.  Our passion is our product, and we strive every day to bring the best results we can to your cup.

OUR TEAM

Our team of roasters and baristas are constantly updating their skills, making sure they keep up to date with industry knowledge and trends on everything from water quality, coffee crop conditions, to the latest equipment and tools.

Currently boasting an all-female roasting team, we make sure every roast is completed with precision and consistency to ensure the best experience for our customers.

SUSTAINABILITY

With a focus on sustainability, we are constantly reviewing our procedures to ensure we are reducing waste and encouraging others to do so.  We encourage reusable cups and straws, and offer a discount for those customers that bring their own.

We also offer a discount for customers who BYO container for their coffee beans - but if you can't bring your own container, our coffee bags can be recycled in your kerbside recycling program (find out more about Detpak's RecycleMe™ program here).

We are a proud supporter of the Yandina Food Waste loop - a local community initiative where businesses collect their compostable waste and it is turned into nutrient rich compost.

SHOP LOCAL

Where ever we can, we source our materials locally from the Sunshine Coast region.  From locally baked Ten Acres bread, to hand-crafted Pottery for the Planet ceramic coffee cups - we are local, and support local production.

We are also proud to be a longstanding member of White's IGA's Locavores program.
